More than 35 million Americans each year will have problems with anxiety or depression. However, when diagnosed, people can usually be quickly and effectively treated. Dr. Colmant facilitates a weekly group with the goal of helping people reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression and improve coping. REVITALIZE MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT

Sweat therapy combines counseling with the practice of sweating. Sweat practices have been used around the world for thousands of years to help people gain greater physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Examples include the Finnish sauna, the American Indian sweat lodge, and the Russian bania to name a few.

HOW DOES SWEAT THERAPY WORK?

“We know that exercise, meditation, and group counseling all have significant therapeutic effects on healing and well-being. Sweat therapy combines these three activities within the context of a primary nature-based experience. The results are powerful effects on the body, mind, and spirit”.

Stephen Colmant, Ph.D. - 2008

TEAM BUILDING

The sweat therapy sauna accommodates 14 people and provides an ideal experience for your group or organization to build team cohesion, redefine goals, or just to relax and have fun!

CLINICAL RESEARCH

Sauna bathing is beneficial for the prevention and treatment of some lung, heart, and skin problems. It promotes deeper sleep, pain relief, muscle relaxation, and has been helpful in treating insomnia and arthritis. It also promotes positive effects on feeling states including relaxation and stress relief. Two randomly assigned/controlled studies completed by Dr. Colmant found that Sweat Therapy accelerated and intensified group interaction compared to group counseling in a standard office setting.
